Get support that works with your brain, not against it.

Your OT's Guiding Question

What's meaningful to you, and how do we make it doable?

Think of your OT as the Swiss Army knife of therapies. Function-oriented. Pragmatic. Versatile. Different tools for different parts of daily life. Your Everyday Engineerβ„’ Not actual engineers β€” just really practical therapists.

We're regulated health professionals that help Autists with:

  • Processing a new or suspected diagnosis
  • Autistic burnout prevention and recovery
  • Executive functioning systems and scaffolding
  • Workplace disclosure, accommodations, and return-to-work
  • Unmasking, internalized ableism, and authentic living
  • Sensory environment and lifestyle re-design
  • Relationship and social communication support
  • Daily living: meals, cleaning, appointments, finances, and more

Is This You?

You're Autistic, AuDHD, or strongly suspect it. Now what? Alberta Autism support ends at 18. Adult disability and mental services don't get it. We specialize in exactly this gap.

FAQ

Common Questions Answered

No. Self-identification is valid. Many Albertans can't access or afford assessment. We work with your lived experience.

Telehealth occupational therapy is effective for a wide range of domains, including burnout prevention and recovery, executive functioning, unmasking, processing a new diagnosis, sensory supports, and navigating social communication and relationships. We also help with home and life management, self-care routines, emotional and energy regulation, and workplace disclosure and accommodations. Sessions are tailored to your unique needs and priorities.

Yes. We see adults across the province: Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Fort McMurray, Grand Prairie, and every rural community in between. Telehealth reaches everywhere (as long as you have a stable internet connection)!

Yes. Our OTs are either registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) or in provinces that have interprovincial agreements allowing them to provide telehealth servies to clients in AB.

We adapt. Sessions can be shorter, camera-off, or low-demand. We support you as needed.

Extended health benefits are the most common and accessible option. Check your annual maximum. We provide receipts for reimbursement.

AISH includes some health benefits, but coverage varies by individual situation.

Alberta Student Aid offers Schedule 4 funding for post-secondary students with disability related support needs. Historically, we've used this with clients for Sensory Profiling

Workplace disability or return-to-work programs may also cover OT, and employed or self-employed Autistics disclosed as such at work, may be eligible for funding through Everyday OT.

Yes. OT is function-focused. We build systems, solve practical problems, adapt environments, and help with gentle skill building. Many clients do both OT and counselling for different purposes.

Autism support for adults in Alberta refers to specialized services like Everyday OT's virtual occupational therapy designed for Autistic adults living in Calgary, Edmonton, and across the province. Adult Autism support in Alberta is nearly non-existent: pediatric services end at 18, adult mental health systems rarely understand neurodivergence, and adults are often told they're "too high-functioning" for disability services while struggling day-to-day with invisible support needs. Telehealth OT bridges this gap, offering late-diagnosed adults, burned-out professionals, and rural Albertans access to affirming support for self-understanding, self-advocacy, burnout recovery, executive functioning, sensory processing, workplace accommodations, and daily living. Funding options include extended health benefits, AISH, workplace accommodations funding, and Alberta Student Aid.
