Talk with a Director

Free 15-min call. before you book anything.

What's meaningful to you, and how do we make it doable?

Think of OT as the Swiss Army knife of therapies. Your Everyday Engineerβ„’ β“˜ Not licensed engineers, just really practical therapists. . Function-oriented. Pragmatic. Adaptive. Different tools for different parts of daily life and meaningful activity.

Do we build skills? Adapt the task? Shape the environment β€” physical, institutional, or social? Or harness the strengths you already have?

In good therapy, it’s usually a mix of all four.

Modelling the numbers

Finding an OT who actually works this way is genuinely hard.

Neuroaffirming is a buzzword now, but nuanced OT for Autism and AuDHD across the whole lifespan is not a common specialty anywhere in Canada. It is a rounding error. To show why, here is the arithmetic worked through one province.

Worked example · BC, 2024
3,340

occupational therapists registered in British Columbia

One province, used as the illustration.

Meet the team

British Columbia is used as a worked example because its registration figures are public; the pattern, not the precise count, is the point. The first and last figures are counts; the steps between are estimates derived from published Canadian workforce trends (CHCPBC licensure statistics; CIHI, Occupational Therapists in Canada, 2024; Canadian Journal of Occupational Therapy). Canada has no autism or neurodevelopmental specialty certification for occupational therapists.

Neurodiversity-affirming occupational therapy across the lifespan is rare across Canada. Worked as an example in one province: as of 2024 there were 3,340 occupational therapists registered in British Columbia. About 2,600 work in direct clinical care. About 650 of those work in the private sector. Roughly 150 work in paediatrics or developmental habilitation. An estimated 40 carry a majority Autistic or AuDHD caseload. An estimated 20 work with Autistic and AuDHD clients across the whole lifespan. Nine of them work at Everyday OT.

Specialist OT for Autistic teens and adults

OT you wish you'd have found years ago

If you or your teen have been missed, sent to kids' services, or given supports that never fit, here is what's different.

Self- and late-identification is the norm here, not the exception

vs.

Being told you look fine and asked to come back with a report

Built for teens and adults for your real life

vs.

A children's clinic squeezing you into their play space as an afterthought

Autistic & Allistic team, practice and lived-experience in Autism across the lifespan

vs.

A field where 43 of 44 clinicians could recall no training on Autistic adults

ND-affirming clinically and operationally

vs.

Neuroaffirming as a website buzzword, but nowhere else; compliance and behaviour targets in the room

Border-free expertise, from your own sensory-safe space

vs.

Care that depends on your postal code, in a bright, loud room you need a day to recover from

OTs with 6-20+ years each, led by health system leaders

vs.

A new grad, a life coach, or a behaviour analyst with a certificate

No formal diagnosis or doctor's referral needed. Sessions from home, anywhere in Canada (excl. QC & SK). Covered by many insurers, health plans, charities, workplace supports, and provincial funding sources, and generally an eligible expense for the Medical Expense Tax Credit.
